Hennis Care Centre takes great pride in raising money ALL YEAR LONG predominately for the American Cancer Society.  Of course our big fundraiser is the Relay For Life!  All money earned throughout the year is given in June after many wonderful laps around the track and other fun projects during the year.  Help us achieve Gold or Silver and work towards finding a cure!  Check out the photos below to see the fun we have working together for a wonderful cause.  Please join us this year!  Scroll down to see all the fun we had.

Hennis Care Centres Earn Cancer Society Platinum Award

Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar and Dover were awarded the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life "Platinum Award" for 2009.  The staff of both facilities raised a combined total of more than $12,000 toward the fight against cancer.  Throughout the year, the facilities' staff sponsored car washes, Scrap-a-Thons, Bake Sales, requests for donations from vendors, a Bake-Off "Throw-Down", singing contests and a variety of other sales, auctions, and events to raise funds.  Many of these events were featured as part of the facilities' activity programming and brought individuals from the community into the residents' home.  The Hennis team has won the Platinum Award ($10,000to $15,000 donation) three out of the past 5 years, and was only one of two Platinum winners of 42 teams.  For additional information, please contact the American Cancer Society Relay for Life (www.relayforlife.org), or Paula Hennis Sickinger at Hennis Care Centre.

Hennis Care Centre also won "Best Relay Banner" 2009!  Pictured is the Relay for Life Banner which the team walked behind at Crater Stadium in Dover in June.  The banner was made by STNA, Buffy Murphy and her friend, Ken Myers.  Thank you Ken and Buffy!
